Roller Coaster Ride Continues
For those of you who don't know, I have just completed a degree in English Studies at Sheffield Hallam University. As I'm still at my father's house helping sort out the funeral and lending support I haven't seen my post. However, Yvonne dropped into my house and rang to say there was a Strictly P&C envelope waiting for me from SHU. She opened it for me, and then kept me hanging on tentahooks before announcing I've got a FIRST!!

Who'd've thought it? Discovering a long unused brain at my vast age...

> I've got a FIRST!!

Was there any doubt?

Congratulations.

Well, there was for me - there goes my long-cherished self-image as a total bimbo...

You hadn't fooled, well, *any* of us.

Congratulations. You are a star xx

Well, you're the only one who ever thought that. :-)
Alex Holdenalex_holden on July 8th, 2007 09:01 pm (UTC)
Brilliant!

Where did you find this long-unused brain? Was it in a jar under the bed, like Einstein's? ;)
julia_winoljjulia_winolj on July 8th, 2007 09:13 pm (UTC)
Actually in an small unregarded cupboard behind my cobweb coated bicycle in the garage. Luckily, unlike Einstein's brain, mine had not been sliced and diced and pickled for posterity (although it was occasionally pickled in vodka...)

See, you're much cleverer than I was when I did my degree. Either that, or you actually worked. Well done.
julia_winoljjulia_winolj on July 8th, 2007 09:15 pm (UTC)
Arts subjects require much less precision. My brain had fallen out of the jar and was therefore rather fluffy - ideal for use in waffling arguments that have no relevance to anyone or anything (other than English tutors) in the known universe. I excel at fuzzy logic...

Rubbish. A first is a first is a first is a first.

Well done you.

Realy pleased for you. You deserve it after all your hard work :-)

Well Done Honey!!

You deserve it all, the praise, the adulation, the men in coffee houses listening to the words of wisdom that drop from your cherried lips....

Seriously hon, you deserved it. Well done!

Well done darling.

Congratulations, that's pretty impressive.

Congratulations!

Unlike you, I think we were all expecting you to do well, but a First is still rather impressive, and whatever you say, I doubt they give them out willy-nilly. I'm sure it took brains and hard work, so well done you!

Well done :-)
and much hug-ness
